Topsy-turvy winters and bad floods!..

Read the Malaysian Reserve this morning and came across this:

“Scientists are trying to puzzle out just how much  of a role global warming has played in the past two winters, which have witnessed record cold and snowstorms in parts of Europe and US..” And also massive flood all around Australia…

Folks, wake up, wake up… Let’s save the world now.

S.O.S along Federal Highway

Crying for help along Federal Highway, be it your car is suddenly stalled for no reason? Out of gas? Or etc..
Being a loyal user for Federal Highway lately from Jalan Kinabalu to PJ Amcorp, I can see more and more cars stalled along the Federal Highway.
If I am in their shoes, what should I do?

This morning I try hard to peep for any helpline number or etc and I found this small plate with this:

Sprint Helpdesk
(with phone number below this)

And also noticed that there is a truck with Mr. mechanic with SPRINT logo to help you out, parked along the highway in front of Angkasapuri.

Will try to jot down the number soon and update it here. Or you can call TM Directory to get you the number.
So now I know that Mr Sprint will be there to help in case of emergency along the Federal Highway.

Hahaha).

Kisah bermula selepas September 2010 hari tu, berkira2 untuk duduki rumah sendiri setelah almost 3 tahun mendapat kunci (dua tahun disewakan)… So bincang sana-sini, rujuk sana, intai sini.. dapatlah idea bagaimana nak siapkan rumah tersebut sebelum diduduki.. Masalah utama kami pada ruangan parking kereta di depan (sungguh buruk rupanya), touch up ruangan dalaman dengan mengecat sahaja dan juga ruangan dapur yang sempit.

Kira memulanya nak buat Bulan Dec 2010, both of mula merayap membeli cat dan perkakas untuk mengecat. Nak cat sendiri tu. Fuhyyooo.. wa tabik pada diri sendiri dan Mr Zack. Lihatlah hasilnya.. walau buruk bagaimanapun hasilnya, ku tetap bangga! Ha ha. Bibik tolong membersihkan rumah and the kids tolong bagi moral supports..
 Ilham pose top model tu…

Dalam pada itu, kerja2 untuk porch kereta dan dapur extension masih tak de idea sebab quotation yang diterima daripada Kontraktor pertama ini costs us a bomb! RM50+K. Mana nak cari duit? So niat dibekukan sementara waktu.. Alternatif kedua, import tukang rumah from our hometown- Kelate.. (sanak sedara jugak) tapi tak jugak ada conclusion, so dibekukan jugak..

Maka bincang, soal, pikir.. last2 kami setuju dengan skop kerja dan kos yang diperuntukkan.. so there u go.. 4 Jan 2011.. officially bermulalah our house reno..
Nak share pasal hasil kerja Kontraktor ni sekarang? Masih terlalu awal.. tapi setakat ini kami puas hati.. Insyaallah, Allah will make this easy and simple for us. Nanti saya postkan pictures hasil kerja mereka.. nilai la sendiri.. kalo nak dapatkan contact no Kontraktor ni pun, I can share with u..

Nanti bersambung yea..

Clean Development Mechanism - CDM

My first assignment after coming back to serve the Co. was to find out more and share about CDM. What is CDM?  CDM, defined as Clean Development Mechanism is a flexible financing tool to support climate change initiatives that reduce CO2 and other gas emissions in the developing countries (Non-Annex 1 countries), which was set in the Kyoto Protocol.

The emission of CO2 and other Greenhouse gases (GHG) are mainly resulted from human’s activities around the world. We built coal power plants in order to give electricity and kept up to the demand, we planted up more and more factories to meet the supply-demand & to get the status of industrialized country, we enjoyed the ride in our own cars, trains, buses  to work, shop and many-many more activities.  Everybody contributed to this problem.  Seriously speaking, none of us did such activities with the intention to ruin today’s world but things have happened and we need to mend it NOW!

To restore climatic stability, the CDM aims to help countries promote sustainable development by shifting to renewable energy resources.

The CDM facilitates co-operative projects between developed and developing countries for the reduction of GHG emissions, with the opportunity for additional financial and technological investment. These GHG reductions are quantified in standard units, known as Certified Emission Reductions (CER). The CDM involves the trading of emission reductions via CERs that result from a specific project. Other countries then use these CERs to meet their own reduction targets. In return, money is transferred to the project that actually reduces the greenhouse gases.
The following types of projects have potential for CDM in Malaysia. Two possible revenue streams exist for CDM projects: via traditional cashflows (e.g. electricity sales) and via environmental value of the investment (e.g. CERs). But not all projects qualify for CDM assistance. To be eligible, projects need to demonstrate that the proposed activity is an additional benefit resulting from a normal business venture:
  • Renewable energy projects, including PV, hydro and biomass;
  • Industrial energy efficiency;
  • Supply and demand side energy efficiency in domestic and commercial sector;
  • Landfill management (flaring or landfill gas to energy);
  • Combined heat and power projects;
  • Fuel switch to less carbon intensive fuels (e.g. from coal to gas or biomass);
  • Biogas to energy (from POME or other sources);
  • Reduced flaring and venting in the oil and gas sector;
  • Land-use, land-use change and forestry projects (afforestation, reforestation, forest management, cropland management, grazing land management and re-vegetation)

Malaysia is one of several developing countries promoting the use of renewable energy. Developers in Malaysia are already starting to utilize the CDM to initiate energy projects for biogas wastewater, biomass, compost, landfill gas, and mini-hydro. There are eleven energy projects which will produce a total of 73 MW of new renewable electric power. The waste sector offers tremendous potential for CDM, such as recovering emissions from methane sources. Palm oil mills using gas turbines become attractive with CDM financing, as well as small-scale power production projects using gas engines.
More to come in next publication…

Renewable Energy..

Let’s have a serious thought about Renewable Energy, in short RE per say..

I would like to share my thoughts and findings in RE areas with the rest..

let's move on to RE folks!

she is 4 today..

 Family life is many things
And one of the nicest joys it brings
Is having an angel as dear as you
Who's thought of in a special way
Not only on a special day
But warmly and with love
The whole year through!
Happy 4th. Birthday dear!!
